Cancellaria gracilior was named by Gabb (1869). It is extant.

It was recombined as Admete couthouyi gracilior by Clark (1931); it was recombined as Massyla gracilior by Woodring et al. (1946); it was recombined as Admete gracilior by Arnold (1903), Woodring and Bramlette (1950), Hendy (2021).
