Rupelchelys breitkreutzi
Taxonomy
Rupelchelys breitkreutzi was named by Karl and Tichy (1999). Its type specimen is SMNS 9618, a partial skeleton (carapace fragment), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Neumühle bei Weinheim, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in Germany. It is the type species of Rupelchelys.
