Pohlsepia mazonensis

Taxonomy
Pohlsepia mazonensis was named by Kluessendorf and Doyle (2003). Its type specimen is FMNH PE51727 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Pit 11, Braidwood, Mazon Creek (FMNH coll), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Pohlsepia.
