Mesodictyon magnum
Taxonomy
Mesodictyon magnum was named by Theriot and Bradbury (1987). Its type specimen is ANSP A-G.C. 6425 5a and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Diatom Locality 14 I 80-40N, West Browns Creek, which is in a Miocene lacustrine siltstone/ash in the Chalk Hills Formation of Idaho. It is the type species of Mesodictyon.
