Ammonites tucuyensis was named by von Buch (1850).

It was recombined as Puzosia (Anapuzosia) tucuyensis by Robert et al. (2018).

Synonyms

Desmoceras colusaense was named by Anderson (1902). Its type specimen is CAS 66637.01, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Puzosia (Parapuzosia) colusaensis by Anderson (1958); it was recombined as Mesopuzosia colusaense by Murphy and Rodda (1960); it was recombined as Pachydesmoceras colusaense by Matsumoto (1960); it was synonymized subjectively with Puzosia (Anapuzosia) tucuyensis by Robert et al. (2018).
