Taxonomy
Ictalurus (Amiurus) hazenensis was named by Baumgartner (1982). It is extant. Its type specimen is UMMP V74320, a partial skeleton (anterior skeleton and skull). Its type locality is Ictalurus hazenensis type locality, which is in a Miocene lacustrine diatomite in the Truckee Formation of Nevada.
