Taxonomy
Ammonites calisto was named by d'Orbigny (1850). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R03160, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Hoplites calisto by Toucas (1890); it was recombined as Berriasella (Berriasella) calisto by Klein (2005) and Bujtor (2013); it was recombined as Berriasella calisto by Frau et al. (2016), González-Arreola et al. (2017).
