Taxonomy

Broiliellus was named by Williston (1914). It is not extant. Its type is Broiliellus texensis.

It was assigned to Aspidosaurinae by Watson (1919); to Dissorophidae by Carroll (1988); and to Dissorophinae by Schoch (2013), Schoch and Milner (2014).

Synonyms

Broiliellus hektotopos was named by Berman and Berman (1975). It is not extant. Its type locality is Locality 6, near Cameron, which is in an Asselian/Sakmarian terrestrial horizon in Ohio.

It was considered a nomen dubium by May et al. (2011), Schoch and Milner (2014).
