Taxonomy
Clio goederti was named by Squires (1989). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7987 (internal mold) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP 6132, which is in an Aquitanian marine siltstone in the Astoria Formation of Washington.
