Taxonomy
Stacheoceras mongeri was named by Nassichuk (1977). Its type specimen is GSC 42277 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality B, GSC locality 79412, which is in a Wordian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Horsefeed Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Jilingites mongeri by Leonova (2018).
