Taxonomy
Perittocrinidae was named by Abel (1920). It is not extant. Its type is Perittocrinus. It is the type family of Perittocrinacea.

It was assigned to Perittocrinacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Aethocrinida by Ausich (1998), Ausich (1998).
