Taxonomy

Macroleter was named by Tverdokhlebova and Ivakhnenko (1984). It is not extant. Its type is Macroleter poezicus.

It was assigned to Tokosauridae by Ivakhnenko (2008); and to Nycteroleteridae by Tverdokhlebova and Ivakhnenko (1984), Carroll (1988), Tsuji et al. (2012).

M. agilis, M. poezicus (syn. Tokosaurus perforatus) (type species)

Synonyms

Tokosaurus was named by Tverdokhlebova and Ivakhnenko (1984). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Macroleter by Tsuji et al. (2012).

It was assigned to Tokosauridae by Tverdokhlebova and Ivakhnenko (1984), Carroll (1988), Ivakhnenko (2008).
