Taxonomy
Campanilopa dilloni was named by Hanna and Hertlein (1949). Its type specimen is CAS 9425, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Domengine Reef, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the Mabury Formation of California.
It was recombined as Campanile dilloni by Hanna and Hertlein (1949), Squires (1993), Squires (1999).
