Mycetophagites atrebora was named by Poinar and Buckley (2007). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (Ron Buckley amber collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Mycetophagites.
