Taxonomy
Gondwanagaricites magnificus was named by Heads et al. (2017). Its type specimen is URM-88000 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (INHSP collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Gondwanagaricites.
