Eodiscoglossus was named by Villalta (1957). It is not extant.

It was assigned to Discoglossinae by Sanchiz (1998); and to Discoglossidae by Carroll (1988), Evans et al. (1990), Shishkin (2000) and Gao and Wang (2001).
