Deltacystis symmetricus
Taxonomy
Deltacystis symmetricus was named by Sprinkle (1974) [= ?"Elongate flanged columnal," Sprinkle 1971, p. D91, fig. 1, 24,25.]. Its type specimen is MCZ 761 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IK-3. Ikes Canyon sponge beds, Toquima Range, which is in a Rangerian carbonate limestone in the Antelope Valley Formation of Nevada. It is the type species of Deltacystis.
