Taxonomy

Holectypus neocomiensis was named by Gras (1848).

It was recombined as Coenholectypus neocomiensis by Smith (1991).

Synonyms

Holectypus pennanus was named by White (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lastro, perto de Maroim, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Riacheulo Formation of Brazil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Coenholectypus neocomiensis by Smith (1991).
Holectypus planatus was named by Roemer (1852).

It was synonymized subjectively with Coenholectypus neocomiensis by Smith (1991).
Holectypus engerrandi was named by Lambert (1927).

It was synonymized subjectively with Coenholectypus neocomiensis by Smith (1991).
