Protocaiman peligrensis
Taxonomy
Protocaiman peligrensis was named by Bona et al. (2018). Its type specimen is MLP 80-X-10-1, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Punta Peligro, which is in a Danian mire/swamp claystone/conglomerate in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Protocaiman.
