Taxonomy
Cidaris bradfordensis was named by Wright (1857). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bradford-on-Avon (Discus zone), which is in a Bathonian marine horizon in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Plegiocidaris bradfordensis by Smith (2015).
