Taxonomy
Hemipedina corallina was named by Wright (1858). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Malton, which is in an Oxfordian carbonate limestone in the Coralline Oolite Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Pelanechinus.
It was recombined as Pelanechinus corallinus by Smith (2015).
