Taxonomy
Uraloceras sofronizkyi was named by Bogoslovskaya (1976). Its type specimen is PIN 3638/36 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Podgornaya Village, Krasnoufimsk, Sverdlovsk Region, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Koshelevskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Clausiuraloceras sofronizkyi by Kutygin (2018).
