Discussion

Holotype is noncataloged specimen from Schneiders private collection (Saxony-Anhalt, Helbra), found in the vicinity of Mansfeld. A cast of the holotype is stored in the Berlin Museum of Natural Sciences (specimen MBR, no. 3610) and its copy is stored in the Borissiak Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (PIN), no. 5392/1.

Taxonomy
Glaurung schneideri was named by Bulanov and Sennikov (2015). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mansfeld mining district, which is in a Wuchiapingian offshore claystone in the Werra Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Glaurung.
