Rhinodipterus stolbovi
Taxonomy
Rhinodipterus stolbovi was named by Krupina (1995) [Large dipterid (up to 1 m in length) with continuous ethmoidal shield and elongated snout. A pair of large openings lie on the ventral side of the snout. The anterior part of the lower jaw is narrow, elongated and T-shaped in ventral view. The inner margin of the dentary forms an acute angle. Parasphenoid with long and narrow corpus. Single E bone. Entopterygoid tooth plate with seven ridges of teeth fused in the midline. Prearticular tooth plate with nine ridges. Cosmine present on dermal bones.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIN 2986/418, a partial skull (A snout). Its type locality is Rhinodipterusstolbovi-type locality, which is in a Frasnian marine horizon in the Dubniki Formation of the Russian Federation.
