Taxonomy
Cyphosoma corneti was named by Cotteau (1874). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ciply (St. Symphorien gravel, KBIN collection), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate grainstone in the St-Symphorien Formation of Belgium.

It was recombined as Phymosoma corneti by Geys (1980).
