Taxonomy
Macrocystella pauli was named by Gil Cid et al. (1996). Its type specimen is EO-151 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Viso del Marqués, which is in a Berounian marine shale/ironstone in the Pizarras Cantera Formation of Spain.
