Taxonomy
Hoplites storrsi was named by Stanton (1895). Its type specimen is USNM 23092 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Berriasella storrsi by Anderson (1945); it was recombined as Parodontoceras storrsi by Imlay and Jones (1970); it was recombined as Substeueroceras storrsi by Verma and Westermann (1973).
