Taxonomy
Macromerium bayeri was named by Fritsch (1875). It is not extant. Its type specimen is CGH (unnumbered), a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Nyrany, which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine coal in the Kladno Formation of Czechia.
