Taxonomy
Perisphinctes haliarchus was named by Neumayr (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ciofronca (GBA collection), which is in a Kimmeridgian carbonate limestone in Romania.

It was recombined as Ringsteadia (Decipia) haliarchus by Grigore and Marcu (2009).
