Sutneria (Sutneria) carpathica was named by Grigore (2009). Its type specimen is LRs11F4, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample F4, F Block, Ghilcoş northwestern slope, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine sandstone in Romania.
