Taxonomy
Salzburgia was named by Senowbari-Daryan and Schaefer (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 873,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Salzburgia variabilis. It is the type genus of Salzburgiidae.
It was assigned to Calcarea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Salzburgiidae by Finks et al. (2004), Amirhassankhani et al. (2014), Senowbari-Daryan and Rigby (2015).
