Taxonomy
Neochonetes (Zhongyingia) liaoi was named by He and Shi (2014). Its type specimen is CUG CM-1-364, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Majiashan, unit 1, which is in a Wuchiapingian deep-water mudstone in the Dalong Formation of China.
It was recombined as Neochonetes (Neochonetes) liaoi by He et al. (2019).
