It was synonymized subjectively with Colubroidea by Kuhn (1966).
It was assigned to Serpentes by Carroll (1988); to Alethinophidia by Greene (1997), Vidal and Hedges (2002); to Booidea by Wilcox et al. (2002); to Macrostomata by Lee and Scanlon (2002); and to Alethinophidia by Fernicola and Albino (2012).
