Taxonomy
Mariella (Mariella) fricki was named by Murphy and Rodda (1960). Its type specimen is UCLA 28654 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 3467, North Fork Cottonwood Creek, which is in an Albian marine conglomerate in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
