Taxonomy
Eogunnarites matsumotoi was named by Murphy and Rodda (1960). Its type specimen is UCLA 28664 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 3775, North Fork Cottonwood Creek, which is in a Cenomanian marine conglomerate in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
