Taxonomy
Lysis jalamaca was named by Saul and Squires (2008). Its type specimen is LACMIP 13386 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4137, Jalama Creek, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian offshore sandstone/conglomerate in the Jalama Formation of California.
