Sertulaster keslingi
Taxonomy
Sertulaster keslingi was named by Blake and Koniecki (2019). Its type specimen is UMMP 74695, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LaFarge Belleville Quarry, Verulam Fm., which is in a Katian shallow subtidal wackestone/siltstone in the Verulam Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Sertulaster.

Each interbrachium with two proportionately large, upright superomarginal ossicles. Relatively small axillary at disk edge. Primary circlet of 10 ossicles; supernumerary ossicles lacking in circlet; circlet ossicles robust, subelliptical in outline. Interradials inset from radials. Primary circlet enclosing central area of an outer ring of 10? larger ossicles, these in turn enclosing two? medial ossicles, the larger ossicles partially separated by closely fitted smaller ossicles. |
