Taxonomy
Posidonia elegantula was named by Waterhouse (2000). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Manang district, Khangsar Formation, Jargeng Member, which is in a Triassic marine carbonate in the Khangsar Formation of Nepal. It is the type species of Imposidonia.
It was recombined as Imposidonia elegantula by Waterhouse (2008).
