Polynices (Neverita) recluziana alta was named by Arnold (1903). It is extant.

It was recombined as Neverita recluziana alta by Arnold (1908) and Valentine (1957); it was recombined as Polinices (Neverita) altus by Willett (1937); it was recombined as Polinices reclusianus altus by Willett (1937); it was recombined as Polinices altus by Kanakoff and Emerson (1959); it was recombined as Neverita (Glossaulax) alta by Addicott (1970); it was recombined as Glossaulax altus by Hendy (2021).
