Taxonomy
Cincliderma was named by Hinde (1883) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-u K Sn Sepkoski's reference number: 622]. It is not extant. Its type is Cincliderma quadratum.

It was assigned to Staurodermatidae by Hinde (1883); to Hexactinosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Placotrematinae by Reid (2004).
