Ganolytes aratus
Taxonomy
Diradias aratus was named by Jordan (1924). Its type specimen is Stanford University Paleontology Type Collection 600, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lompoc Quarry, which is in a Tortonian basinal (siliciclastic) diatomite in the Monterey Formation of California.
It was recombined as Ganolytes aratus by David (1943) and Fierstine et al. (2012).
