Taxonomy
Neoschizodus permicus was named by Nakazawa (1960). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UK JP10001. Its type locality is Kawanishi Primary School, Gujo, Oe-cho, Kyoto Prefecture, which is in a Changhsingian marine shale in the Gujo Formation of Japan.
