Taxonomy
Laevostrea intermedia was named by Yao (1984). Its type specimen is Changchun College of Geology, SN0144 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Qingnian Reservoir, Mishan, which is in a Cretaceous marine horizon in the Yunshan Formation of China. It is the type species of Laevostrea.
