Taxonomy
Kulunostrea yengisarica was named by Wei (1984). Its type specimen is Bureau of Petroleum of Xinjiang, XBB-0472 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yengisar, Shache, Yecheng, which is in an Eocene marine horizon in the Wulagen Formation of China.
It was recombined as Flemingostrea yengisarica by Fang et al. (2009).
