Taxonomy
Trigonia (Protrigonia) yunnanensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is Geological Museum of China, Beijing, IVy0345 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North of Weixi, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Maichuqing Formation of China. It is the type species of Trigonia (Protrigonia).
