Taxonomy
Shifangella margaritiferiformis was named by Liu and Luo (1981). Its type specimen is Chengdu Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources, bi503 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jinhe, Hongbai, Shifang, which is in a Triassic marine horizon in the Wuzhongshan Formation of China. It is the type species of Shifangella.
