Taxonomy
Margaritifera (Palaeomargaritifera) guangyuanensis was named by Ma (1984). Its type specimen is NIGPAS 25378 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nanshan, Guangyuan, which is in a Jurassic marine horizon in China. It is the type species of Margaritifera (Palaeomargaritifera).
