Taxonomy
Cuneopsis (Eocuneopsis) yunnanensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is Geological Museum of China, Beijing, IVy0482 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Heping, Jinggu (Hepingxiang Formation), which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Hepingxiang Formation of China. It is the type species of Cuneopsis (Eocuneopsis).
