Taxonomy
Unio (Palaeunio) sichuanensis was named by Ma (1999). Its type specimen is NIGPAS 58508 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dakang, Zhongba, which is in a Jurassic fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Ziliujing Formation of China. It is the type species of Unio (Palaeunio).
