Taxonomy
Psilounio sinensis was named by Gu (1976). Its type specimen is NIGPAS 25164 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haitangpu, Jiangyou, which is in a Bajocian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Shaximiao Formation of China. It is the type species of Psilounio.
